"Them Crooked Vultures"...More than a Power Trio (Vids)
Earlier this month we told you about the new supergroup Them Crooked Vultures. Featuring John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters/Nirvana) and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) fans of rock & roll everywhere are foaming at the mouth.
~ When the first general news snippets, verifying the truth of the band's mere existence, first started popping up; my inital thoughts were not much more than "that sounds pretty cool." However, in the time span of less than a month, since playing thier first show in Chicago on Aug. 9th, along with the devoted coverage of the band over at www.antiquiet.com ; I have eargely searched for any and all info available on, or related to TCV. I will admit that it hasn't been a long search, due to sheer lack of....eh...their only having played 2 shows Nonetheless, based on just what what I have seen, compiled mostly of shaky to not so shaky hand cams across the web, I am still willing to bet the farm that we certainly have more than just a novelty power trio on our hands here. In fact, I haven't been this excited for a new band since "Monsters of Folk"...wait a min...their full length has not yet (officially) been released either. Yes indeed, that last sentence, alone, serves as a personal reminder that summer is over, and that the annual music industry's, "premier & release 'em if ya got em", Fall season has definitely begun.
